"One article, many categories", Reda Mohamed brings native multi-category support to Joomla in his Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2026 project.
His Google Summer of Code 2026 project brings native multi-category support to Joomla content, a primary category that anchors existing features, plus any number of secondary categories kept outside the nested category tree, so category rebuilds aren't touched.
Covers the core-integration approach, a live demo (backend config, custom fields, front-end filtering and navigation), and the room's Q&A on the long-running tags-vs-categories debate.
(Recorded at Joomla User Group London (#JUGL) meetup - July 2026)
